here's what you missed

8.13.10
Some big news to report--after a pretty long stretch with no team changes, we have added Tabari Cook to the roster! Details and such can be seen here. Been a long time coming! Watch for him in Flow Trash coming out this winter??? Then, in Filler II Dec. 2011??? And also in video news, finally got our hands on the footy from Duluth demo, so expect that to be up this weekend.

7.25.10
Duluth demo came and went--thanks to everyone that showed up and thanks to Nesser and The High Five for joining up with us. Check back for the video from that in about a week. And while the MN dudes were up north, we got some video proof that out-of-state dudes are still alive: Jamiel checks in from Seattle & Hansen checks in from NY. Jamiel, next time you come back, bring that park with you. Hansen, next time you come back, do NOT bring that rail with. Finally, on a sad note, condolences to Chris Thatcher's family.

6.22.10
First demo of the summer is on the calendar! Get up to Duluth for a joint demo with GF and Bratrud's new project and Nesser's new board-sponsor home--The High 5. Details one column to the right. See you there and more to come!

6.14.10
Some new stuff to report. First, go get caught up with the "5's" videos at Familia. Benson already has his up and Tabaria and Aaron's are both looking good. Next, congrats to Jack Olson on the Damn Am win--first local dude to win one after some close calls in previous years by others. Also should be noted that I can attest to the ferocity of Jack as an opponent after he embarrassed me badly in the first round of the OUT contest. Happy to report that the footy from Hansen and Neal is coming in fast from NY. Is a premiere date already set for our next video? Keep checking back. Also, some demos are brewing--should have details figured out soon.

4.15.10
Since it has been so nice out, why not show you a bunch of park footage? This is what most of us were up to the last few months of crappy weather. The new boards are moving quick (already had to reorder Jamiel's board!) so thanks if you bought one--now go and buy two or three more. Also, get out to a Twins game but try not to wear your Glue Factory Twins logo ripoff shirt in front of their legal department. Finally, 3rd Lair OUT contest has been moved back to May 23 amid controversy and shit-talking--go sign up.

3.21.10
Only 3 months into 2010 before an update! Had to wait to have something worth posting, and think our new goodies that just came out are post-worthy. See the flyer here. But we would like to again congratulate Jamiel and Ryan on the step-up to professional skateboarding. Aside from that, looks like we never linked to the extra stuff that didn't get used in Filler, so kill a few minutes here. Lastly, quit looking at websites and go skate.

12.15.09
Well, the filler premiere came and went and we were happy so many came out to see what the old dudes could muster. Video is in shops, so go buy one or be cheap and just watch it here. Either way we appreciate you taking the time to watch it. Now, onward to the next project, whatever that may be. And go watch New Flavors this Saturday at Oak St.

12.11.09
Alright, "filler" dvd's are in hand and will be available this Sunday in shops or for free online (watch for link). We thought we would give you the option, but we certainly wouldn't frown if you bought a copy--they're only $15 and there are a couple of extra things on there to watch, if that is any incentive. Not much else to say--premiere is tomorrow night at Oak St Cinema at 9:30 pm and afterparty at Casey's bar & grill. The whole team is in town from all corners of the country, so see you tomorrow!

10.28.09
So we have three very important updates. In order of importance: 1. McDonald's is running their delicious pumkin pies 2 for $1.00, get 'em while they are in season. 2. Bob Dylan just released "Christmas in the Heart" which is destined to be a yuletide classic. 3. And the reason for the lack of updates has been the mad scramble to drum up footy for the glue factory video. We are set in stone for a premier, so see you at Oak St.

7.24.09
Well, Watson couldn't quite pull it off. But you can dry your tears because the new glue factory boards are out including a pro model!??! Head over to the "What" page to check 'em out, then go buy a few.

7.16.09
Alright, the British Open kicked off today with some Glue Factory shit with Tom Watson in the mix at the top of the leader board. If you are around 40 years younger than Watson, you may be excited about flopping your limp carcass off the Riverfront big four for cash and prizes. Details on that here. Congrats to Tom and David on their Steep Bank of Doom work (and thanks to Familia for making a bank that was as close to the real thing as you can get with wood).

7.8.09
First of all, let's get the trailer for our video up here (link one column to your right). Thanks to Benji for filming/editing that for us. Jamiel made it out to Seattle in one piece, so expect to see some of Seattle's finest spots in the video. And on the out-of-town note, Ryan and Neal are putting in their work on the other coast. And that leaves the rest of us still here in the middle. Time for some new graphics? Should be out in the next couple weeks, including the first glue factory pro model? Does referring to it as the first mean there are others coming? Answers soon enough, but in the meantime, get to Familia's Steep Bank of Doom contest this Sunday.

6.16.09
A lot going on at the factory. First we welcome Chad Benson to the team. Filming for the video is coming along and looks like stuff is falling into place. We showed a new trailer at the Familia video premier and will also show it before the Nike SB video tomorrow night (go see this vid if you weren't planning on it). Good job on the Familia vid, and thanks to them for also premiering the Zoo York vid. Also great congrats to Dennis Burdick on his first big project. Jamiel is on his way out to Seattle in a couple days, so good luck out there, and Manik, keep your paws off! We will have the trailer up in a day or two so check back. We also have some other new stuff coming out soon.

5.6.09
Well, I can officially congratulate our own Ryan Hansen on graduating from college! Not bad for a dude who I didn't think would graduate from high school at one point. I'm proud of you buddy. I would venture to guess we are in the running for most educated team, with 3 dudes with college degrees and another halfway to his degree (if that counts for anything---Thrasher, you got an award for that?). But doesn't that mean we should know better than to be still skating? And with school done, Ryan will be joining Neal Erickson in NY, so expect a lot of footage from there in the Glue Factory video. Speaking of which--we are in full swing and things are coming together! Stay posted.

4.9.09
Hansen got on my case enough to update, so here goes. Did Cream City demo, so watch for footage from that (as well as the other past demo footy we have severely lagged on getting together). Didn't see any familiar faces at the Morrissey concert--thought I would see some skaters there. Looks like winter is gone for good? Hope so, as this summer is the last push for footage for the video. We need all the help we can get, so wish us luck. And warmer weather means it's time for golfing, and golf season starts with The Masters, which began today. Tiger is in alright position, tied at -2 with glue factory golf team member Greg Norman.

3.3.09
As you probably have either seen in our local skate e-media, or at 3rd Lair, Cal Surf, Familia, or FL Project, we are doing a fundraider board for Ryan Hansen's dad. Details here. I can't thank the shops enough for their help. There are only 50 boards, so please grab one quick.

2.14.09
First of all, congratulations to Nesser for his successful reproduction. Next, we are officially set for our first interstate demo hosted by Cream City. Details one column to the right. Hope you bought the Alien Workshop video.

2.2.09
Hansen is getting on my case about a lack of updates, so we put out a new board series just so we have something to put on the site. Also, see you Friday night at Oak St Cinema where Familia is premiering Alien's new vid. Expecting to get some motivation from that to finish off this winter. Rumor is Kirchart skates to Morrissey so you know we're excited. Go to the premier, go buy the video, buy the tickets to the Morrissey show, buy the new Morrissey album in a couple weeks, and if you have a few bucks left, buy one of the new boards! And if you stumble upon this from across MN's eastern border, Cream City just picked of some boards. Are we working on a demo there? Yep. Details soon. And it looks like Ollie & Co has a contest coming up.

12.24.08
Merry Christmas I suppose. To celebrate, we put together a little video--head over to the video page to see that. We have two or three more demo vids coming in the next week or so. Also, we can officially toot our "we have been in business for a full year" horn. Sucks we have a horn for that as it won't be very useful anymore. And more important than any of this, Morrissey will be playing here for the first time since 1991. He's playing Milwaukee the Friday before, so that's a good excuse to go on a Cream City mission.

12.17.08
Congratulations to Luke for his succesful reproduction! We had the Duluth demo this past weekend--thanks to everyone who showed up and skated in the OUT contest. Video evidence from that will be up soon along with some more stuff for your viewing pleasure.

11.24.08
As mentioned, we have an announcement on the team front. He's hardly ready for the glue factory, but he is ready for the glue factory if that makes any sense. Either way, we welcome Jamiel Nowparvar to the team. Official announcement here. I suppose this means I have to rustle up a new team photo?

11.18.08
Yeah, so a day or two goes by pretty quick. Anyway, as seen elsewhere, here is the lowdown on the glue factory video, but a not so long story short, it has been pushed back. But to help convince you we actually are doing the video, here are some shots from NY a few weeks ago. Next, look a couple pixels over to the events for details on our second demo up in Duluth. So that's some of what's going on. Keep posted, as we may have a fairly significant notice on the team front. Finally, we are quickly nearing completion of our first year in business, so keep your eyes open for some celebratory events.

11.9.08
Ouy! It has been too long since the last update? I'll blame it all on a very busy couple months trying to wring the last few tricks out of the fall weather. Hope you did the same. We also just got back from another push out in NY to check up on how Neal Erickson is getting settled (he's doing great by the way). And, even had the fortune of meeting up with Ben Ragsdale as well. I'll get some photos up in the next day or two. We'll have some announcements regarding demos, the video, etc. coming up soon, so stay tuned.

9.18.08
Hope you made it to the Familia red wave contest thing, if not, you missed some damn good tricks that should not have been possible on that thing and you also missed some fine slams as well, the best one courtesy of one of glue factory's finest (his initials are DJ and it wasn't me). And yes, I floundered trying to relive past Sal flip glories. Coming up Oct. 4th is yet another annual ramp jam. Unending thanks to Luke for keeping these going. See you there.

9.8.08
Yeah, time to update I suppose. Hot off the press is a new 7.8" offering from glue factory that gives you, the skater, the opportunity to flex your political muscles. Or, you can use the board to thumb your nose at the whole political process. Either way is fine with us. On to more important things, hat's off to everyone involved with Boondoggle. Well done and good to see these younger dudes putting out high-quality local stuff. Don't just share your buddy's copy--buy one of your own. And congrats to Davis on taking another big step up the ladder--one more to go! Finally, thanks to FL Project for having us out for the demo, and thanks to everyone that came out to skate and hang out. Video from that coming soon.

8.2.08
Just got everything settled for a demo for the good folks at FL Project. Peek one column to your right for details. See you there. Also, we welcome Mr. Hansen back to the state after his tme off in AZ. And it sounds like Luke wrapped up a new run of our "T-Dog" shirts so look for those in shops in the next couple weeks. Speaking of product, we have a special new graphic coming out soon that is interactive. What the hell does that mean? If you know your super old world industries graphics that claim may make sense.

7.26.08
Finally, the Ollie & Co. demo vid is up, so head over to the video page and check that out. Getting close on a couple of other videos so check back. Also, looks like a couple of demos coming up for the FL Project and Cal Surf locals, so check back for dates.

7.23.08
Head over to the Oakdale park Sunday for the Familia BargeBQ. I know you were watching, but we still need to acknowledge Greg Norman's charge at the British Open. Yeah, he didn't end up winning, but that's some glue factory shit right there. And get it in your schedule now--official glue factory singer, Sourdough Slim will be at the State Fair. Here's a little ditty to get you sparked. See you in the front row.

7.9.08
Umm, yeah just over a month since last update--sorry. Lot's of team movement for the glue factory. Neal moved to NY, Hansen is in AZ on sabbatical, Munzie has been on the Keroac tip, Jansen is around and I survived another Bloody 4th with only a very feeble amount of blood (as Rowley would put it). Milwaukee mission this weekend to see if I can produce a more respectable amount of bloodshed. We will have some videos to post finally--right, Dennis? Go buy a glue factory t-shirt since you're thinking about it.

6.6.08
We are still working getting the Ollie & Co. demo video up along with some Milwaukee footy. Good to see so many friends at the Familia party--and even better to see a lot of people from "competing" shops showing support. And I haven't seen this nugget on any other skate sites, so I get to break this news (I guess this is some meager payout for the years of trolling Morrissey websites). Damn Am this weekend then off to NY to work on the video.

5.21.08
After years of unprecedented mischief, glue factory's own Neal Erickson has graduated from college. I'm proud of you, Neal. On the skate front, many thanks to the wiskate.com dudes who tour guided us around Milwaukee this past weekend and even went the extra mile taking us to the best Mexian restaraunt in the midwest.

5.15.08
More congratulations are in order, this time non-skate related. Josh Holtan, best friend to many, and his lovely wife Tami have successfully reproduced. Violet Mae was born last Saturday with ten fingers and ten toes! On a comepletely different note, Familia has something cooking.

5.12.08
Well, another year of 3rd Lair's OUT tournament, another year of Munzie and myself going home empty-handed mumbling to ourselves about the wait to next year's tournament. Congrats to CJ (didn't I just congratulate him a week or two ago?). I don't think anyone had a shot in hell of beating him. And after his domination at the e's Game of Skate last summer, he is looking like he could be the first repeat OUT winner. I will be ready, though, and I vow to learn regular hardflips by then, so watch out (I have made this claim for 6 or so years now, so you probably don't really need to watch out). Milwaukee trip next weekend so we may even get to film!

5.5.08
Head over to the "what" page to check out the new graphic series. They are in most shops already, so go buy one.

5.3.08
If you're reading this on Saturday, you'd better be in or on your way to Des Moines for the Girl demo. Otherwise, I'd say you are blowing it. I think it's safe to use "blowing it" as Munzie seems to have moved on to another pet phrase. If you can't make the demo Saturday, perhaps you can make it to the demo Sunday at Ollie and Co. to see the slightly less prominent glue factory team. See you there and we'll have a video of that up soon.

4.27.08
Top Shop is all done, and congrats to Warp Skatepark on the victory and to CJ Tambornino on hauling in the Best Trick cash. Haven't heard of anyone doing a switch kickflip bigspin front board yet, and nothing like starting it off on a handrail (in a line on top of that). Thanks to everyone that stopped by the booth and good to hear so many people like the new graphics. I'll have a product catolog up in a couple of days which will also include the new T-shirts printed by the good people at Handjob. An on a slightly less positive note, FUCK YOU to whoever stole the boards out of our booth. If you happen to know anything that may help track down the culprits, I would really appreciate your help. Feel free to e-mail me at gluefactory@q.com or call 612-239-7173. Thanks.

4.23.08
I need to make a comment/ apology for the lead photo in the Stuck article. The board I was pictured with was actually Ryan's, since my board's graphic was gone (marketing, you know). As a result, I am saddled with the public embarrassment of presenting myself as riding Ventures. I just wanted to acknowledge the shame I feel and remind anyone interested that I do ride Indy's. No offense to Venture folks. Top Shop this weekend--yes, we'll have SHIRTS and a NEW board series on display (or see it in your shop in the next few days)!

4.21.08
Check out the new Stuck Magazine for an article on the glue factory. I managed to sneak in a bad joke or two, so you have have something to wince at. Many thanks to Nick at Renegade Skatepark for hooking up the photos and interview.

4.17.08
Got a new item in the events column so look a couple of pixels to your right for details. See you there. Also, we may soon have something for you to wear and it may be printed by a local skater-owned "hand-operated" silkscreener. Maybe.

4.14.08
Well, the dust settled, and not all the no-names crumbled under the Sunday pressure at the Masters. Trevor Immelman was able to hold off a lethargic (but still runner-up) push by Tiger. As for skate news, stop by the glue factory booth at Top Shop if you want a laugh--more details soon.

4.11.08
We've got an important update today! While you can go to another local skate site to get updates on a woeful local pro basketball team, we at glue factory hq are committed to providing you with updates on the most prestigious golf events. That said, we proudly remind you that we are getting into the thick of the Masters. At press time, Mickelson is sitting good and Tiger needs to get his ass moving. You also have your usual no-names at the top, but watch them fall off over the next two days.

4.8.08
You should have already seen the promos, but from the look of it, Boondoggle is shaping up to be a damn good video. Is David Jaimes still alive after that slam on the nollie nosegrind?

4.1.08
Congratulations to Cal Surf for being one of the top skateshops in the midwest for 20 years. I am proud to say I bought product there in their first year. They have some deals going on to celebrate so stop in and see.

3.31.08
Apparently, Old Man Winter is not checking this website, as he doesn't seem too concerned that we have a video to get working on. And speaking of video, hope you've checked out the demo videos. I feel I have to clarify that I picked the music. Dennis has his panties in a bunch because people may think he picked a Morrissey song. So, just to clarify, Dennis did NOT pick any Neil Young or Morrissey songs. Not to get into a whole "who listens to better music" thing here, but would you rather have heard some Jackson Browne B-sides? Didn't think so.

3.21.08
Get back over to the video page for a viewing of the Faribault demo video. We are officially caught up on videos (except for the other one's we are working on). Some new stuff will be popping up in the next few weeks. However, if you like the current graphics, you may want to scurry out and get one before they are gone. Thanks for all the support on this first round of graphics! Good luck to Emeric, Seth and Nesser at Tampa Pro this weekend. Also, watch for Benji getting in people's way down there.

3.14.08
In the words of the great J. Peterman, "aaaaand done." Duluth demo video is up on Video page. Faribault video will follow in the next couple days. And, in honor of the previous quote, knock yourself out with this tremendous resouce.

3.6.08
Alright--got all the computer issues worked out and to celebrate, posted a quick little video, so head over to the video page. Will have demo videos up in short order. Some other new things are coming up, but first I have to finish watching The Office.

2.23.08
Duluth and Faribault demo videos are still on the way. Holdup has been some editing issues that probably aren't worth the wait anyway. In the meantime look at this and this--there will be more of these to come. Also, a little public service announcement here. I got set up exactly the same way and was a couple hours away from giving them my donation. I make the mistakes so you don't have to.

2.11.08
Busy last week or so. Faribault demo was fun--thanks to the Faribault heads for turning out. Check back in a week or so for footage of the two demos and maybe some other goodies. Vegas trip was productive with Mr. Hansen putting a good dent into his part for the glue factory video. On the trip, I was playing blackjack and the dude next to me told me he was a psychiatrist and the day before had a patient come in only wearing underwear made of Saran Wrap. "What's wrong with me, doc," he said. Doctor said, "Well, I can clearly see you're nuts." That's what he told me anyway.

1.30.08
Thanks to everybody that came out to the Duluth demo--hope everyone had a good time. Faribault demo Sunday, then off to Las Vegas on the first filming mission--tomorrow will be one year to the premeir! Here's something important to check out in the meantime.

1.23.08
Congrats to all the MN heads at Tampa Am. Unfortunately, the top MN performance by Davis Torgerson (3rd place!) was tainted by a cheating scandal--turns out he was riding a glue factory board giving him an obvious unfair advantage. Hope to see all the Duluth shredders at our 1st demo on Saturday.

1.17.08
Small scheduling error on Faribault demo, start time is now 12:30pm (same day).

1.12.08
Making progress--some more updates done, most notably posting the info a couple of pixels to the right. Congratulations to 3rd Lair on the opening of the Burnsville location. Also, watch for our ad in the new Swimmer's Ear magazine, which should be in shops next month.

12.29.07
Thanks for stopping by. I'm still working on the site, so stay tuned. However, some stuff is funtional, like the "where" page, so feel free to poke around.
